yet more dreams

hi kids!!!

I did say I would take a bit of a break but this gemlog is actually the perfect excuse for a dreamlog.

I have been off melatonin for 2 days now. I had a surprisingly melancholic dream tonight. S was there. he drove by me in a car (red, I think?), stopped, and asked whether I wanted a lift. I politely accepted and he drove me on down canyon st. there was the same sense of mystical admiration I had for S as a kid. yeah it was one of those "back in time" dreams, but only sort of. I am fairly certain I was the modern day ashley in the dream.

I can vaguely recall some dreams that preceded it which I'm pretty sure are repeats (multiple year old repeats at that.) the treacherous climb up the forested mountain to the concrete school (amidst a crowd trying to get to class too?), the swampy bog with dirt paths and a wooden sign that indicates a crossing... these were only vague images or fragments and not fully fledged dreams, but the common thread connecting them seemed to be greenery and vegetation and aggressively green foliage. I am pretty sure they had proper storylines when I first had them, but I can't for the live of me remember them fully. anyway.

in this one the location was familiar, but I don't think it had previously featured in a dream. it was at the intersection of canyon st, rainbow st, eleven st and another one I don't know the name of (not that they were named in the dream). a small offshoot of canyon st breaks off at the intersection and proceeds parallel to canyon for 4 or 5 houses before breaking left and merging back into it. in the dream, continuing along the houses to the right led to a dam. rusted metal ladders, huge blocky moldy concrete structures, concrete ramp down from the houses; a basketball hoop in one of the concrete walls, I think? there is actually a concrete ramp in a nearby street in real life, which my brain probably merged into that location. though different in real life, the same sense of finality that emanates from the very last houses which delimit the edges of town was definitely there. and similar themes showed up as in other dreams that have featued the outskirts of town... water channels and other such hydraulic systems, vegetable gardens in terraced lots delimited by dry stone walls, abrupt changes in height and lots of verticality in general.

I ought to try to write down the old classics. the one with the underground spooky forest (accessible through a crawlspace) which led to an open area of birch (?) forest with native peoples. the one in which... well that one was too long to describe, but it had an in-universe title! "the quest for the rubies". yeah that was easily the sickest dream I've ever had. the anxious forest road descent dream; the ones involving terrian that slopes along one axis (lots of that around where I live), flower mazes, chases down the paved roads; the nice hair dream; the- the Garden...

sigh. take care y'all.
