Inspired by telescope gemini browser that supports gemini, gopher, and finger, I'm building an 'in browser' telescope-copy browser. Stupid eh?

Serverside I've express+vite, netstat for gopher, gemini-titan for gemini, shell command finger for, well, finger, and socket.io for client/server data communication.

Client side is built with Crank+socket.io-client. And Tachyons for css.

Finally got around updating Ubuntu from 20.04.6 LTS to 22.04.4 LTS. (Thinkpad T420 2011). Went rather well with no issues at all.

I really dislike how the mastodon.nz home timeline on Firefox will freeze my 12 year old T420 Thinkpad running Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS forcing me to hard restart.

Not a big deal, the only other application running on the laptop is Terminal as a remote console to my "real" computer, (`tmux attach`). But still always frustrating when it happens. Sigh. Luddite.

A fortnight ago I switched to vaping for my 45 year old nicotine habit. Still rolling a few cigarettes a day of some home-grown tobacco (from a couple of seasons ago, not great but satisfying). I have saved around $300 in that fortnight (my honest dollars earned by labour amount to around $400 p/week). Life is strange.
