Currently halfheartedly looking for a new job while my current job changes out from under me. Maybe the new changes will be good, and maybe they won’t and I’d like to have options.
Trying to watch and listen to as many things as I can in German to try and revive some of the things I learned in High School. Haven’t been as active in some of my other hobbies lately, but life has been pretty crazy lately. Hoping things slow down a bit in the future.
Listening to the audiobook for Babylon’s Ashes by James S. A. Corey. Usually I fall off a book series by the 3rd or so book, so the fact that I’m still going through these is positive. That said, I feel like I’m dropping off, and more want to finish the series to have completed it, rather than a huge desire to find out what happens next.
Recently finished the Myth of Multitasking by Dave Crenshaw. A lot of words to say “multitasking is bad.” Was hoping for more science behind how the brain works and why it interferes with the brain, instead got a novel about how someone became burned out by multitasking and learned not to do it anymore.
Watching Masters of the Air on Apple TV. While I haven’t read the book, I did recently listen to the audiobook “Luck of the Draw” by Frank Murphy, read by Jonas Moore who plays Murphy in Masters of the Air. Have also read “Lightning Down“ by Joe Moser, so know where the story is going from a historical perspective, especially with how much the title sequence is showing.
I want to like it more than I am so far, and I think it is just me knowing so much about the topic, that I’m getting hung up on all the changes being made for the sake of making it a more watchable TV show. I wasn’t as familiar with the actual people behind the stories for Band of Brothers and The Pacific, and perhaps that’s why I enjoyed them more.
I can’t think of any new movies I’ve watched lately, have been gradually introducing the kids to more classic movies from the 80’s and 90’s.
