I'm looking for some resources and documentation (and tools!) on how to program for PalmOS in Linux. Is there still something alive that I can take and fiddle with? Or it is pretty much dead?

I’m also interested in this. Am thinking I’ll probably have to try running an ide with Wine. Worst case scenario there’s always Onboard C haha

you can use freepascal: https://wiki.freepascal.org/PalmOS_port

— PalmDB has a Discord server, in case you haven't joined it. It's fairly active.

@Addison That's great, just joined. I think, though, in the name of preservation, to make a couple posts here about how to develop for the platform. Discord, for me, is not a good place for archiving information (and some people here might not like the anti-features of Discord).
@ResetReboot definitely do! I agree about discord, palmdb's site has a lot of resources too but I'm sure the discord is full of info not documented anywhere so anything you can document is great

Just echoing the sentiment that Discord is not the best for this kind of thing. I totally agree. I look forward to seeing your posts!
I had messed around with writing a simple app in C for my PalmPilot 1000 a couple of years ago. I think I used the PODS tools. I'll dig up what I'd worked on and see if I can't contribute here at some point as well.

not sure i have to express this, but yes, i wouldn't join discord.
i broke up with funtoo linux community since they moved to discord. it requires proprietary closed source client, it is tied to one company, so yes, not for me.
i moved back to gentoo.

i like xmpp so much. the server is extremely easy to setup. there are lots of other open public servers that you just can join and open a room or several rooms there.
and it is decentralized. people who have accounts on other xmpp servers can join the room on other xmpp server.
it respects privacy - xmpp host would not provide any excessive data to the xmpp host which runs the multi user chat.
there are many clients.
