I'm still waiting on information from the admin guys at the property management company about the position I applied for. I'm also waiting for some test results from a strength test I did on Monday. The strength test is for the national rail corporation -- I applied to work at the train station in my city, so they need some proof that I can lift heavy things.
I feel like all I’ve been doing recently is waiting. Waiting for information about a new job, for software updates, for the snow, for life to really “begin”.
It’s already October, but the weater has remained in the 70℉/~20℃ range. Typically by now, you’d need to wear layers to be comfortable outside. Perhaps I’m freaked out a little more after reading those books about climate change, though I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned. It’s cloudy and the leaves have changed, but it’s not chilly. Maybe it’s an effect from the urban heat island I live under. Or I could be freaked out from halloween early 😜🎃.
This weekend my family and I went to a weekend church retreat. A few years ago this was where my relationship with my first girlfriend deteriorated. That relationship I had definitely overinvested emotionally in. I’m mostly over it, but the campground is still hard to visit for me. I sure as hell don’t want to get back together with her lmao.
I don’t put much stock in signs and stuff like that, but the weather this year was the complete inverse from the year we broke up. That year it was freezing cold and snow was falling by the beginning of October. This year, it’s 80℉ and humid. I think it’s time to move on.
The retreat is really designed for younger kids and families; my friends and I used to have a lot of fun there when we were little. None of them were there this time, though my family didn’t stay for the whole weekend — we’ve all got stuff to do in other places.
Whatever. I’m looking forward to getting things done. Maybe I’ll apply to grad school, or go ask that nice Greek girl out or something. It’s time to move on, that’s what I know.
