1436 Files Removal

Since it was mentioned in my guestbook:

I removed the section to be able to remove password authentication from my SSH server entirely. Since participation was my main objective and this was no longer going to be possible, I removed the entire section from RPoD.

Return of the Gemini PDA

With my usual schedule, I have a lot going on. I pretty much forgot I even had this device! Upon remembering, and being home this week, I powered it up. I updated termux which updated emacs, which made me have to reinstall Doom Emacs as my install got hosed.

One of the other things I like about the gemini pda is using MPD with my true wireless earbuds. I use ncmpcpp in termux along with an android MPD server. Since I mainly use this device as a termux terminal with a nice keybord, having my music player in a tmux window is nice. Having no cord to screw with is also nice. I impulse bought a Beats Studio Buds in an airport during a flight delay. So far I have been satisfied with them both in audio quality and battery life. Of course I do listen to a lot of black metal, so audio quality is not always a thing -- your mileage may vary.

In hotel rooms I do not ever turn on the TV. I have a Samsung Galaxy tablet I use for entertainment in this case. In airports and for typing, I think I will also start carrying the gemini.

Device Proliferation

When I travel (which is basically all the time), I take quite a few devices with me in additon to those already mentioned...

Two Phones

My work supplies me with an apple iphone. I have several apps I am mandated to use for my work, so I must carry this phone. I also have a samsung S21 that is my personal phone. I have a large music selection and apps I like on this phone. I also like to only use this phone for comms unrelated to work.

Ambernic RG280V

I am not a big gamer, but I like the form factor of this portable console. I also love that it emulates all gameboys, NES, SNES, PS1, quake, and doom among others.

Amazon Kindle 2019

I have an over a decade library in the Amazon eco system. This device has a small and thin form factor and great battery life. It also has a back light and this is great on planes.

Lenovo Thinkpad e595

My work laptop. Full of Alan Bradley and Fanuc software. Another thing I am mandated to carry on my travels.
