Jam-packed festival for young people in Limerick

Donal O'Regan, 11 May

A JAM-PACKED festival for young people will be taking place in Limerick

next month.

Programmed for young people by young people, LASTA 2024 National Arts

Festival will take place between June 1 and 12.

The Lime Tree Theatre / Belltable is one of seven venues nationwide who

have teamed up to present this event in cities and towns across the

country, from Letterkenny to Tralee, from Galway to Portlaoise.

The Lasta programme for the Limerick venue has been curated by two

young Limerick curators  selected through an open call - Annie Brown

and Erin Fitzgerald.

One of the highlights of the festival will be a theatre performance of

Boxing by Castletroy writer William Keohane. He will perform on June 7.

Based on a project originally conceived and delivered by Backstage

Theatre in Longford and now in its third year, Lasta has blossomed to

include venues and individual curators nationwide, and an expanding

programme of exciting, multidisciplinary work.
