Limerick engineering firm secure Amazon Horizon accolade

Donal O'Regan, 11 May

A PLASSEY-based engineering firm has won a top business award from tech

giant Amazon.

H&MV Engineering won a Horizon Award from Amazon at a ceremony in

Dublin.

The company, which last year pledged to create 700 new jobs at its

headquarters in the Plassey Business Park, was recognised for its

design and construction solutions across data centres, wind farms and

solar and battery projects.

Now in its second year, the Horizon Award aims to recognise firms whose

owners have helped to improve employment in Ireland or exported their

skills or products to other regions and markets.

The chief executive of H&MV PJ Flanagan said: “Ever since we started

working with Amazon in 2013, this has created many different jobs and

roles in engineering, project management and a number of supporting

jobs in our Irish offices. The support provided to us has allowed us to

establish a presence globally. We are delighted to have been given the

Horizon Award this year and it is testament to the hard work and

commitment shown by everyone associated with the company.”
