2021-10-20 - Mass

I vaguely remember my first day in Physics 101 at Rollins College in 1976. I remember at the end of the first lecture in which some of the basic concepts of physics were introduced wondering just what "matter" actually was. A more in depth definition was promised, but I came to think no one actually has an even close to adequate one. I am currently reading a book titled "Walk in Love" in preparation for joining the Episcopal Church. It gives "Mass" as one of the words for the Eucharist. It is one of the terms in Einstein's e=mcc. In the Eucharist, the spiritual body of Christ is said to meet and indwell in the physical bread. In physics, energy is believed to fully indwell and comprise all physical matter. I've long noticed the two meanings seem somehow related, but I've never found out if/how the two meanings are related etymologically.
