Smashing Windows: Part II

Even the venerable Notepad isn't safe from Microsoft's astounding ineptitude.

I'm at work today and, consequently, need to use Windows. I open up Notepad to work on a *very basic* HTML file and...it crashes. For real. Notepad!

I thought:

It's OK, these things sometimes happen. I'll just open it up again.

I open it up, and the same thing happens.

After a bit of debugging, it turns out the new multi-tab feature is causing a crash. Everything is OK, until I try to open - or indeed, close - a tab, at which point it falls over. Wonderful!

In other news, a Chrome tab I had open was using almost an entire GB of RAM; and the kicker is it was just (what looked to be) a text-based news article. Why does *everything* have to be a web app these days?
