Links

These are links to various sites that made me think about technology and have helped me on my Gemini journey.

Remembering Things

Geminiquickst.art

The Gemini Quickstart pages were what launched me on my journey. Simply written they walk you through installing a client (browser) and finding things to read.

pollux.casa

Gemini Quickstart suggested pollux.casa as a hosting option, and thank goodness they did. Adële kindly provides Geminauts with a free home for their capsules, and has written an easy to follow guide on creating content for Gemini Capsules.

Smolweb.org

From pollux.casa I found myself back on the WWW reading about the smolweb concept from Adële. This concept really struck to the core of what interested me in Gemini in the first place, in a world of resource hungry complexity we need to commit to a simple, unbloated web for all.

This site provides a great starting point for anyone looking to delve deeper into making a simpler, smolweb reality.

perma.computer

Along with smolweb, I had another moment fo realisation when I read the pages at perma.computer and discovered I wasn't alone in wanting to step of the technology treadmill and get back to human-focused computing and using just enough resources to achieve my goal. Give the open letter a read, and see if you want to sign it too.

Finding Things

medusae.space

The easiest way to find things to read is to start at an aggregator like medusae.space. Having a catalog of capsules organised into categories makes it easy to find somewhere to get started on almost any topic.
