About me:
I'm a southern California cyberpunk vaporwave electronic musician, interested in netart and revival retro web services, on top of other related topics. All of this is in a way, is a kind of fallback for me in case something happens with the World Wide Web. Who knows where this Gemini thing evolves into? Hopefully, far far away from whatever HTML ended up as.
Here's a few attributes
I don't know where to begin.
Antitrust court cases, Eurasian proxy wars, Supreme Court dictatorship, Price gouging scalper scams, and to top it all off an extreme uncertainty over whether or not the "United States" will continue to be so, err, 'united'. I'm losing my mind in it all. Super stressful stuff, and it's heavy across the board. I'd think it gets to anyone, going through literal world history. The more I think about it, the more I wonder how far or soon things are going to change next, and whether it's for the better or worst.
Lately I've gone ahead and posted up on revival retro websites like Spacehey and the Yesterweb, thinkin' about hittin up the neocities, but at the moment just hittin up the cities section of the gemini yesterweb page. I'll link my site below. It's not finished yet, I'll set up some type of gemini filespace soon that should be accessible via graphical gemini browser clients, as a way to store stuff like low bit-rate music, images, other resources. In my yestercities page, you'll find my other links in case anyone wants to add me on Spacehey.
Hopefully, everything turns out alright in the world. Truth is, I have high hopes for the world, I have faith in people, and the intuition behind a population who holds empathy and community in their hearts and souls. I'm aware that's idealistic. Then again, this online protocol exists, doesn't it? It's easily accessible via any internet connection. It's not the biggest step, but it's one step of many. I think so, anyways.
Here's my yestercities page on the gemini space. Thanks for checking out my post! 🤖Stay Vigilant🤖
