I'm going to wind down my gemlog. I'm not going to take it offline, but I am going to stop writing content for it.
Which is where I am at the moment, even if I will keep updating SpaceBeans to some capacity (released 1.3.4 last night updating dependencies, and it includes a refactor that should make possible to support other protocol -like Titan-), I don't feel like writing in this capsule.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to write this post, but then Drew's post echoes my own thought so well that is basically "what he said":
The reason I'm going to stop posting is because I don't find myself reading things in Geminispace anymore. The kind of content which is usually posted here just tends to not align with my interest areas.
I agree that most of the technical content hosted on Gemini is about Gemini itself, and usually repeating the same points, because I guess there are bits from Gemini that are not ideal and there is a lot of conversation around them. And also, as I wrote here back in November, I'm not interested in the heated discussions -and gatekeeping- around them.
At the end there is nothing for me in Gemini that I can't have already with the regular web via blogs.
Sometimes I read Station and I contribute some replies, but I have also been off-Gemini for a number of weeks and I didn't miss it at all. Is like the idea of Gemini inspires me, but then Gemini itself is not it.
Anyway, see you around!
