Amateur Radio Jargon

After rereading my previous post on Morse code, I realized that I used a lot of jargon in writing that entry. Jargon has negative connotations because it excludes people that aren't already part of the group that uses it. Jargon is domain-specific, usually restricted to a particular group or profession, in this case the amateur radio community.

I spent some time thinking about the common words and phrases used by amateur radio operators. There are plenty of places online where you can find definitions for words and phrases, so I don't claim any special significance in presenting my list of amateur radio words and phrases.
