Other information

Mellilot was already used by the ancient Egyptians for both culinary and medical purposes, though my books do not tell what they exactly used it for. The ancient Greeks used this plant to heal ulcers, bruises and more. Though, it is not completely sure whether the Melilotus of the ancient Greeks and Egyptians is the same as the one of our time or not. And actually there are not really more accounts of this plants being used in history in any of my books.

But, there are still known some medical effects of this plant. It can be used against haemorrhoids, varicose veins, tromboflebitis and sleeplessness. I myself have the idea that it even works against sleeplessness when you just hang Mellilot upside down in your bedroom.

Warnings

Do not use this plant too much, for that can cause nausea, headache, general weakness and/or vomiting.

Be very careful with the drying of this plant if you want to use it. A bad drying process with fermentation results in the production of dicumarol, which is poisonous.

Do NOT use Mellilot for fourteen days before a surgical or dental procedure.

Do NOT use Melilotus if you have a bleeding.

Do NOT use this plant if you use plants or medicines that have a blood thinning effect.
