i'm incredibly close to being able to eschew what others would have me believe are embellished and necessary items, like that of Outlook and Blackboard...
... thank the Goddess that I didn't listen to them about LinkedIn! did you know that there exists a hotkey on Windows to launch LinkedIn in your default browser? Shift + Ctrl + Win + Alt + L. that doesn't seem very ergonomic.
it's taken periodic time during a few months to comb through my younger and more naive self's password manager in sporadic, ADHD-fueled sessions where I login to, and delete old accounts. PMs are great - except they make it very easy to register for a myriad of websites by removing the "do I really need this?" barrier that comes with etching passwords on paper. i'll probably change my mind about this eventually.
there's no real reason i'm undertaking this adventure. i'd like to be minimally involved in the Internet, and i have a frantic urge to escape unyielding noise. over a hundred sites i had accounts with! still, I recently registered with Bumble For Friends because i've been somewhat lonely at times, and folks my age are more likely to use mobile applications to connect with others. i've met some spectacular people, so the effort has entirely been justified, but the rate at which messages are sent and the duration of time spent chatting have winded me at points. i've acclimatized to this corner of the web, and thankfully a few of the individuals i've met have been happy to be digital penpals.

P.S: in-line with the topic, i've sent a couple of emails to the webkeeper in the hopes that i might be able to change the key i use to unlock the door to the Pub. alas, this has been to no avail. i'm hoping shouting into the void here might catch their attention? :)
Good morning!
~bartender? Coffee with cream and sugar, please! Thank you!
In a few "digital detox" sort of moments I have removed a lot of accounts in the last two years, including Xing/linkedin, github, gitlab. Even a site to keep in touch with old school mates. Most were accounts at web shops. And I decided, that I could easily create another account iff I really needed it. The ones I still care about, I connected to a new email address. It reduced the amount of emails I receive quite a bit. And I'm totally fine with that.
Cheers!
