An M5.5 flare occurred in AR NOAA 2929, with peak at 06:01 UT. As a consequence, a proton event is ongoing at the Earth (10 MeV protons above 10 pfu). It is associated with a CME, but there are not enough images yet to provide a good estimation of its parameters. Since the source region is located almost at the west limb, an effect on the Earth is for the moment not expected.
