Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 25:14

Home

Torah

14 ‎[1] OR BUY. *Kanoh* (buy) is an infinitive. A word is missing. *Kanoh* is in place of *kenitem kano* (you will surely buy). Compare, *zakhor* (remember) in *Remember the sabbath day* (Ex. 20:8). There are many such instances. The word *timkeru* (thou sell) is in the plural because it shall be sold in front of witnesses. The same is true of *al tonu* (ye shall not wrong).

‎[2] [ACCORDING TO THE NUMBER OF YEARS.] Only according to the number of years.
