i see the comments are in the 'newest first' order.

today i continued my post with comments, and i see the first comment is a continuation of a second. people usually scroll from up to down, so i guess the default way of having up to down comments chronologically would be better.

otherwise they need to read the post, then go down, then gradually navigate upwards.

also i can imagine that the click on the arrow which shows order of comments(it is upward now, and i cannot find the way to change the direction) would allow to reorder the comments in other way.

every time i request a feature (second time today) i have this feeling that i am doing something i don't support - asking for features. i think the software should not have lots of features, and having less features is good.

but apparently some things feel natural to me. perhaps some things feel natural to others, and that leads to the emergence of fat software.

so take my comments/requests with scepticism, i realize that maybe i should not even do that.

Comment sort order is one of the options at the top level of Settings:

— /settings

Both sort orders have their advantages and supporters. Personally I prefer oldest-first...

i continued my post with comments

While using multiple comments is fine, note that you can edit your post to add more text instead, or you can start out with a draft and add all the text you want before publishing.

btw i didn't understand how. when i edit the post, i have to paste the whole text again. so before publishing i copy it to the text editor, then i publish. then i read it and if i notice something i want to change, i press edit, and then i need to copy everything from my text file.

it has the option to 'bring back the last line' and indeed it brings back the last line, not the whole post.

You're talking about editing the contents of a text segment. Indeed, apart from using Titan, you do need to copy and paste the previous contents to edit an existing segment.

I meant that you can go to the Edit Post page, and click on the "Add text" in the bottom, to add a new text segment instead of adding comments.

@norayr don't worry happens to me too, when I first joined bubble I suggested an imageboard with auto dithering since I was still missing iich.space, and then @skyjake kindly pointed out I could upload photos directly with the draft post function. felt like I had egg on my face and was super embarrassed for making a shitty suggestion. But I think its better to just put the idea out there for the Dev to consider anyways. For example my suggestions have directly lead to simple English Wikipedia being added to both gemipedia and the transjovian wiki, to there being an option in Lagrange to disable cross protocol warnings so you can search the web in Lagrange easier and to better clarify offpunks help commands.

Not all ideas end up being great, but some of them do.

wow! how can i suggest to add armenian and western armenian wikipedias? i was wondering if there's a way to read or even edit wiki from gemini space. my understanding is, if they sync, or take data from dumps, it's not much space, if they proxy and convert on the fly - the better it is.

🔥 Sm0key · 2023-07-23 at 14:55:

@norayr gemipedia allows you to set the language you want to use by entering in the countries 2 letter ISO code. I found an article containing armenias ISO codes per district here it is

gemini://gemi.dev/cgi-bin/wp.cgi/view?ISO_3166-2%3AAM

you can enter what code you prefer here:

gemini://gemi.dev/cgi-bin/wp.cgi/lang

at the bottom of that page is an option 'set specific language' select it and enter your iso code. If all else fails you can always send a email to Acidus, the maintainer of the service. they are very nice and probably happy to help you out.

Hope this helps!

interesting, i tried enteryng 'hy' and i got featured articles of hy.wikipedia.org. but there is also hyw.wikipedia.org for western armenian, and i believe its iso code is hyw.

however the page says enter 2 letter code, and if i enter 3 chars it doesn't get it.
