Anyone have any favorite recent sci-fi reads? Here are some of mine (though some of these were read last year, so not super recent):

A mix of hard sci-fi, enviro/eco sci-fi, and just good fun with aliens and space.

I'd love to get some good recommendations of cool stuff. What have y'all been loving over the last little bit? New or old. Doesn't matter.

I still haven't read anything since Project Hail Mary but that was definitely a great read. Thanks for the list, I'll have to check these out.

my favorite SciFi book series ever that I !return to every couple of months is 'BLAME!'. The artwork is just insanely good and the story is interesting. I've been meaning to write a review of it on my capsule for a long time now. I used to recommend people get the huge masterwork editions on amazon but the last volume I got was disappointing in paper and binding quilality (apparently Canadian book presses don't have the same quality control as south Korea ๐Ÿ˜’) So if you have a decent sized ereader/tablet just email me and I'll send a magnet link to the eBook files.

If you enjoyed the Murderbot books, I'd definitely recommend checking out the Teixcalaan series by Arkady Martine, it's probably my favorite sci fi world created within the past few years.

Also, anything by Cory Doctorow sounds like it would be up your alley since you mentioned eco sci-fi. My favorite of his novels is Walkaway, but you can't really go wrong.

I'd also recommend The Cybernetic Tea Shop by Meredith Katz if you're in the mood for something shorter, cozy, and low-stakes. I thought it was a nice story.

i don't have recent sci-fi reads. but i have old favourite reads.

i loved 'futurological congress' by stanislav lem when i was a child.

i loved robert sheckley's 'ghost 5' (or was it v) novel.

i loved 'on venus, we have a rabbi' or something like that, by william tenn. too tired to search on the web the correct name now.

I just finished A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers. It was really good as was the first one in that series. I LOVE the Murderbot series.

Something fun I read recently that comes in bite-sized installments is Robert Sheckley's AAA Ace series. I really liked it.

The two of my favorite sci-fi book series I read were The Foundation Series by Isaac Asimov and the Rama series by Arthur C Clarke.

I liked the Silo series. I'm glad it was turned into a tv series. Also Sand by the same author, Hugh Howey I believe.

The Expanse and The Martian (read before the movie).

Ancillary Justice. I couldn't get into the second one in the series but finished it nonetheless.

oh and how can I forget Red Rising series. absolutely love it.

@gritty I've heard the Sand series is good as well. Last week I picked up a bag of books for 50 cents at my local library and it had Hugh Howey's Beacon 23 in it. So I'm reading that now. :)
