24 ‎[1] [AND UNTO ALL THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.] If it were not for the tradition we would interpret *and unto all the children of Israel* as meaning that those who are blemished should not slaughter peace offerings for the children of Israel. Now, since Scripture mentions that a blemished *kohen* may eat that which is holy, it warns that the one who eats sacred food must be clean.
