Ibn Ezra on Leviticus 19:36

Home

Torah

36 ‎[1] JUST BALANCES, JUST WEIGHT. *Avne tzedek* means just weights.

‎[2] A JUST EPHAH. For that which is dry.

‎[3] AND A JUST HIN. For liquid. *A just hin* explains *in measure* (v. 36).

‎[4] Scripture states, *I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt*, because it earlier mentioned *for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt* (v. 34). Therefore, you are obligated to keep My statutes and ordinances in mind and observe them.
