Then, just turn on ip >forwarding and/or masquerading, and you're ready to go. Well, netatalk (not necessarily Linux-specific) now has ProDOS/GSOS support available due to my hacking efforts. You need to pick up Netatalk 1.4b2 from the U-Mich site: http://www.umich.edu/~rsug/netatalk will give you the base distribution, then hit the unofficial patch page at: http://www.umich.edu/~rsug/netatalk/patches/other and grab my ProDOS/GSOS patches. Note that Apple 2 connectivity is NOT supported by U-Mich, and I do not generally have the cycles for any hand-holding. It's not really documented other than in the code. Nevertheless it works just fine on my network. To date, I'm not aware that anyone else has used it for anything, so if you get it up and running please drop me a note? The Apple/Farallon LocalTalk PC card is supported under Linux and will cooperate nicely with the A2 Workstation board. However, it does not work with the //gs built-in Localtalk (timing problem?). If you need to network //gs machines, you'll need to scrape up one of the newer PC LT cards (COPS LT-1, Dayna, Daystar, etc.). Alternately, as Randy points out, you can find FastPath 4's floating around for cheap to bridge the Apple over to ethernet. I also have had success with a little bridging program from Sonic Systems: ftp://ftp.sonicsys.com/pub/software/Ethernet/Ethernet_7.5.image.sea.hqx You will only need the LocalBridge control panel from this package, BTW. It only allows a single Localtalk client to bridge, but works quite nicely given that limitation. I have it installed on an SE/30, and cannot speak for its compatibility with older Macs. Steve
