Trying Rocket Languages, FluentU and LingoPie — Maybe I am wrong, but my approach to leaning Spanish is to avoid translation when possible, but instead try to internalize the language -- I want to feel rather than know. I think it's the key to fluency. Has anyone read Margaret Murray? — I read her book *The Witch Cult in Western Europe* a few years ago, and felt enchanted. I am not a neopagan myself, but given her influence on your community, I was curious what you thought of her. Showing my script "gemlogssh" in action with an old-school video — I've just published the video in my Mastodon account. I started a gemlog for confusing Spanish concepts — [gemini link] As I come across Spanish topics that stump me, I will make little write-ups. These are mainly notes for me and my partner, but maybe they will help someone. There are many terrible long-winded and ever-more confusing explanations on youtube. Random stupidity — I like to tinker with things. A few months ago I had decided to rebuild most of my system with -Ofast to see what would break. (If anyone's interested, very little breaks right away, but you get a lot of subtle bugs and crashes that show up apparently at random.) Well, I rebuilt *almost* everything with sane CFLAGS, but I missed the qtdeclarative package. @gritty When I open the "Play Farkle" / proceed to app link (/farkle/app), it has started responding with status 10 so I get an input prompt. A bug? The game works normally after submitting empty text in that initial query.
