NON . EST . DEUS

~woland

Tonight I saw a deaf man. He was a veteran who had lost his hearing at war.

He was also ill from being exposed to chemical bombs.

He said that the regime did not grant him medical care or life support. He was on the street trying to make a living. He fought for a regime that abandoned him and gave his rights to their cousins.

Tonight I cried. Yes even men cry sometimes. Everywhere I look I see death, I see anguish and torture and worst and I don't know what to do with myself, with these emotions, I guess something reckless and aggressive.

If there was a god, he would not permit such evil to endure to last and to destroy everything in its path.

I remembered that Schopenhauer thought the same thing when he looked at a ship full of slaves in France when he was 17.

What governs this world is blind evil! It has to be!

Edit:

Good and Evil are not just concepts through/to which we express/associate 'general good' and/or 'general bad'. You shouldn't be thinking of winged black or light emitting figures when you hear the words Evil and Good. These archetypes are so deeply rooted in human psyche and literature that to think they are purely abstract is just naive and shallow minded. Perhaps a thorough study of Nietzsche and Foucault along side Bataille can help illuminate those who lack the predispositions necessary to understand seemingly "simple" words.

We live in an insouciant universe devoid of meaning. Meaning is something we've got to make for ourselves, and justice is something we've got to impose on the world.

I don't think self-ishness needs any purely conceptual accomplices (e.g. "evil") in the sufficient explanation zone.
