I just came to the simple insight that I just do not watch TV anymore. It is just so boring and the constant ads are so annoying. My TV use has been in decline for some years now, and it sure looks that I am not watching TV at all anymore nowadays. And you know... I do not miss it at all. I get all news that I need, and my interests have always been on the tech side of things, so the Internet is much more the place for me.... And with a well set-up PiHole, and Gemini and Gopher I can avoid most of the bloat. Also by choosing the right sites and not being on the "Socials". I like it here a lot better.... ;-)

I rarely watch TV. I watch a few things, but there's rarely actually anything good on anymore. · 9 months ago
i am about 10 yrs tvless - in british isles so registered as not having a tv so no need to pay licence fee - watch some things on prime - news by web and radio · 9 months ago
My wife and I hadn't had a cable subscription for over 7 years, and our only streaming subscription is Netflix. The only time I see television now is when it's placed in a waiting room or something similar (an annoying practice, in my opinion). It's absolutely exhausting to pay attention to these days. · 9 months ago
@rellwood likewise. · 9 months ago
I'm with ya' here, the last thing I routinely watched on TV was MST3K way back when. For the most part since that point the TV's I've owned have basically just been to play video games and watch movies on. I think the last time I even had a subscription to any kind of broadcast TV service was back in the early 2000's because I worked for a very short time for a cable company. But even then I didn't watch it, it was just part of the package of free things I got for working there. At one point I just lost interest in TV and barring one or two shows it never came back. · 9 months ago
I haven't watched TV for 10+ years, unless I'm over at somebody else's house and they have it on for some reason.
When we moved into our current house it came pre-furnished with a TV and cable, but there was no conceivable reason why we would ever turn it on. After a couple of weeks I moved the TV into our shed and now my sewing machine lives where it was sitting. :) · 9 months ago
Same here. I agree. Gopher and Gemini are the preferred places for me. I even get annoyed when a Gemini page inculdes an HTTP/S link that I have to follow in order to see that thing. · 9 months ago
