Midnight Pub

How is everyone planning to celebrate the holidays?

~baegho

I'll be going over to Chicago for a little solo trip tonight for a few days before making my way over to Japan to spend Christmas (and New Year's Eve) in Hokkaido with my boyfriend. I'll probably put on some pounds but it's okay at this rate, since I'll be moving so much and hopefully the change in scenery will do me good. I get restless with how nice the weather is in my state all year long. The autumn leaves, followed by heaping snow (and the cold) reminds me that the world is changing.

Right now, everything feels stagnant, chaotic, yet complacent like we're not moving forward. I hope these trips will allow me to enjoy my free time while I figure out a new sense of purpose and try to get my soul in-check.

i'm having a picnic with my polycule for litha which is exciting to me! have fun traveling the world, i don't think i've ever seen snow in the holiday season, probably because i live on the other side of the world :p

I also get a bit restless without change, but i also like the comfort of continued normals. as for food, yeah maybe you'll put on a bit of weight but honestly if you are relatively good at listening to your body, its not a bad thing and just means you have enjoyed yourself!

That sounds like a pretty incredible trip! I'm pretty sure calories don't count between Thanksgiving and New Years... right? I think that's holiday science.

I am really resonating with the latter part of your message - feeling like things aren't moving forward, but feel chaotic. That's exactly how I've been feeling in my own life lately, and I really need to take some time to go out into the world (for a new adventure) and do a little soul searching myself.

I hope you find what you're looking for during your travels, and that if nothing else, that enjoying the beauty of a new place gives you some perspective.

I'm raising my glass to you.

Nothing interesting here: probably sitting on the couch and wait for time to pass.

6 days to go until solstice --- that is the more relevant "event", in my not so humble opinion.

~bartender? How about some hot chocolate without that extra spice, you know? I'd be ever so grateful!

Sounds amazing... Hokkaido in December must be pretty magical!

I'm going to spend time with my dad and his wife's family for Christmas, but planning a trip to Japan in the spring. Maybe for a decent length of time (4-12 weeks, I haven't decided yet).

I know the paradox of that stagnant, chaotic feeling... Hope you do, indeed, get it figured out. (Do we ever truly figure it out?) Good luck in any case...
