Isn't it annoying when you lose something, so you search the entire house for it and instead find every lost object and idea ever EXCEPT the one you were looking for?

If I suddenly found Atlantis in the kitchen sink, I wouldn't be surprised.

my spouse dropped something electronic on the kitchen floor, and 4 batteries popped out. we looked EVERYWHERE for the last one. gone forever.

And then the lost thing will have the absolute gall to just /be there/, randomly, in a place you ransacked a dozen times, a week later.

Without fail.

Yeeeep.

I just found my 7-foot roll-up projection screen in a pile of wood planks in the basement. Previously promised to give it to an acquaintance, and when she and her husband came to pick it up, I couldn't find it. I thought I was crazy, and must've given it to GoodWill or something. Haven't seen said acquaintance since.
