Limerick firm gets the 'Go-Ahead' for new app

Nick Rabbitts, 9 May

STAFF at a Castletroy firm have developed a mobile phone application

which is helping a British bus firm improve the maintenance and

efficiency of its fleet.

Tranzaura has designed a platform to help workers in the transport

industry.

One of its biggest clients is the Go-Ahead Group, which operates bus

services across Britain.

The two firms have a five-year partnership.

From this October, Go-Ahead’s bus companies will be able to streamline

pre-service daily inspections and maintenance processes through an app

developed by Tranzaura.

It’s moving from paper-based safety records, to those on the

application - electronically - will improve reliability, sustainability

and safety across the Go-Ahead fleet which numbers more than 6,000

buses.

The Limerick firm’s app gives real-time compliance visibility and audit

trails for operational and management teams at Go-Ahead.

By using photo capture, live reporting and real-time communication

tools between drivers and engineers, it helps to ensure the smooth

operation and overall reliability of Go-Ahead’s bus services.

Go-Ahead initially used the Tranzaura technology in its garages in

London as a trial before rolling it out to the rest of Britain.

Chief executive of Go-Ahead bus Matt Carney said: “Our partnership with

Tranzaura reflects our dedication to digitalisation, embracing

innovative solutions to streamline processes and improve the way we

work. By incorporating Tranzaura’s digital solutions into our

operations, we will achieve new levels of fleet reliability and

efficiency, creating safer and more reliable services for customers.”

Chief executive of Tranzaura Shane Mann (pictured above) said: “The

Go-Ahead Group and Tranzaura partnership is built on trust and an

excellent working relationship, helping to drive higher standards for

defect reporting across the bus industry. Tranzaura is proud to be able

to support Go-Ahead in not just driving operational efficiency but also

delivering more value to customers.

"We look forward to a continued successful partnership with Go-Ahead

over the next five years.”
