I'm Alex, and this is the Gemini version of my personal homepage.
Gemini seemingly offers an alternative to the hyper-commercialized web of today. My website (via HTTPS) waxes poetic about the old web where geeks and academics ran the show. Gemini *is* the new incarnation of the early web.
More content will eventually be published here. As they often said in the early years of the web, this space is under construction.
Check out my word guessing game called Gemword here on Gemini! It's a Wordle-like game where you get 8 attempts at guessing a secret five-letter word. The link is below. You'll need a client certificate to play.
You can generate a client certificate by issuing the following command on any system where openssl is installed:
openssl req -subj "/CN=YOUR_USERNAME" -x509 -sha256 -nodes -days 1825 -newkey rsa:2048 -keyout privkey.key -out cert.crt
Be sure to replace "YOUR_USERNAME" with a unique value. It can be anything you want. Note that any server that receives this certificate will be able to view the unique value, so don't put anything private or secret there.
Once you've generated the client certificate using the above command, configure your Gemini client to use it with this capsule, goodspace.org. You are then ready to play Gemword!
