Dan Olson, YouTube video essayist, has an excellent video about the video hosting platform and YouTube alternative VidMe. Though it is fairly specific to VidMe, the issues are related to all alternative social media posts. It is also worth noting that when I searched vulgar terms on Gemini for fun, I came across several search results that were disgusting and in some cases even illegal, to add a moral angle to things and to reinforce the idea that alternative social media is appealing to those who aren't welcome in mainstream spaces.
