The power of command line and simplicity
Some people sometimes ask me why I am doing all those CLI, hacker, Linux stuff so here's a list of things I love with it
- It's cool. Let's be honest that's already a pretty valid argument
- You can automate everything
- You can make those software and modify them much more easily than anything else
- You can make simple scripts that do the job of complicated GUI softwares in just a few lines
- You can understand a lot more the processes behind the hood than GUI softwares
- There are most often open-source and free software, privacy repecting and empowering to you as a user
- Some CLI softwares are so powerful that no GUI software will ever replace them
- CLI is easier to maintain and make
- They can run on any hardware, most often can even run on computers that are over 25 y/o without issues.
- You can learn a lot by this while remaining accessible
- It converts your computer into a tool instead of a "magic screen". It empowers you.
