This is a very interesting mirrored application that I have found in the Gemini community. Different from those mirrored pages of famous websites, such as CNN and Wikipedia, the mirror of Google Translate is light and allows Gemini users to access this very practical tool within their niche online ecology. However, when I was using this tool, I was wondering if the mirrored version of Google Translate really achieved its declared goals to make it more accessible and convenient for users. First, it asks users to find a specific language code in the list and type it on the web page by themselves for the system to detect what languages to translate. But the real Google Translate in HTML allows users to easily select the languages they’d like to translate. This indicates that the host of the mirrored Google Translate only considers English-speaking Gemini users who know how to spell different languages and their special codes, and the service is not very accessible to non-English users. Additionally, traditional Google Translate lets users know the pronunciation of their texts with phonetic notations and audios. For language learners and average users, Google Translate in HTML is a far more complete product than its Gemini mirrored version because it offers users more language learning resources.
