Dennis the Menace is a perfect example of why movies based on comic strips often don't work, especially ones based on single panel gag comics. This movie is, I think, based more on the 60s TV show than the comic, but that show had the same problem: You can only watch a kid ruining everyone's life for so long before it starts getting old. Sure, this movie adds in a robber for some reason that Dennis gets to apprehend, and I guess Mr. Wilson has a character arc of sorts where he realizes how mean he's been to him (but then forgets all that after Dennis destroys something again). Also, it's better than any of the other Dennis the Menace movies. On the whole, though, it's a fairly mundane experience, and ultimately not really worth the time.
