All Observed Butterflies Of 2022

All Butterflies

Observation Index

Home

2022 was my first year of observing butterflies in my area. Unfortunately, this year was also marked by drought lasting from early spring to mid-autumn, so some species were stronger represented and easier to spot than others.

Overall 28 species could be determined with absolute certainty. Of three species, both adult and caterpillar forms were present while no eggs were found.

By Season

This list is sorted by meteorological seasons and first observation. Caterpillars are listed separately.

+ The area in which I discovered this individual used to be one of the last

remaining habitats of Polyommatus thersites, which was declared missing since

2011. Unfortunatly, only checking its genitals is suffient to distinct it from

Polyommatus icarus.

++ Spotted several kilometers outside of my study areas in my grandparents' garden.
