Erik Of Het Klein Insectenboek is a Dutch book written by Godfried Bomans. It is seen as literature and it has been translated to several languages. It is about a boy who, on a night, gets transported into a painting of a meadow with flowers and insects. He meets a lot of insects before he gets back out of the painting. The insects all have human characteristics.
This book was not really special to me. It was one of the more enjoyable books for school though, because it comes a bit closer to fantasy than other 'literature' books.
If I would have to rate it on a scale from one to ten, I would absolutely give it a 6.
