hi kids!!!
so. I wrote a thing yesterday. posted it today. this time under today's date, not yesterday's, because consistency is for losers that's why.
just read it. it's pretty bad honestly. it gets somewhat better toward the end, but ughhh. in my defense it was an extremely hard topic to write about -- rather the intersection of various topics which had been floating around my mind for some time and had profound connections which seemed obvious but were near damn impossible to put to words. in the end it's just a stream-of-consciousness screed written at 3 in the morning while fighting brain fog and drowsiness. or maybe that's just an excuse I don't know. for some reason I'm having a much harder time lately stringing more than 2 sentences together.
it feels like I got so much to say but then I just... don't? now the frustration is accompanied by a feeling of overwhelming loss. this was a solved problem! how did I let this happen? it's literally worse than before I started, when I was entirely locked in. being born blind vs. becoming blind after seeing kinda thing.
anyway. I think I'm going to take a break from this gemlog for a bit. maybe I'll try to post more silly things that at least confer me plausible deniability when it comes to the quality of the text. but I do want to get better at writing and not practicing feels counterproductive! ughh, fuck productiveness. what good is it anyway? it's not like my writing HAS improved through practice. if anything it's gotten worse.
I ought to try my hand at writing something different. erotica or something lol that sounds fun. ANYWAY.

also is there not a good gender neutral way to say man as in all of humanity? I mean, you can say 'humanity' or 'humankind' but that's just lame. it just doesn't pack quite the punch, you know. saying 'human' without an accompanying article sounds kinda werid, but I think I could get used to it.
it's one small step for [a] human, but, one giant leap for all humankind.
hmmmmm. man does sound very cool though. monosyllables are powerful I'll tell ya what.

well that's that I suppose.
take care folks.
