Yeah, I'm not great at blogging!
But I've got my first lot of 68keys.io keyboards together, one with Kailh box whites and the other with Novelkey Creams.
I think I prefer the creams, the whites with the clickyness are really satisfying to type on, but only for short periods, after only a little while the clickyness gets a bit much for me, and the creams have qutie a low activation force so I can type with much less energy.
I know the layout of the 68keys boards is a bit old fashioned (from the deep dark ages of 2016), but think I prefer the nav layout being off to the side a little as compared to my 75% board where it's kind of just smooshed on to the side.
ALso, I can't really stress how good it is to have a fully programmable custom keyboard firmware. QMK is great, and allows all sorts of possiblities, I've plugged in custom emojis, added mouse movement to the keyboard via the right menu button, which I never use for that purprose, added the grave/escape key. Just awesome!
Today's monday off work has been taken up with tracking down some locally roasted coffee and a bunch of job applications and stupid selection criteria responses. Only a few weeks to go till my contract ends, I've got a buffer, so no urgency as yet on finding a new contract, but I hope it's as painless a process as the last few years have been.
