WordPerfect/gs version 2.x WordPerfect/gs is a super-res desktop word processor for the Apple IIgs. It includes a 115k-word Dictionary for spell-checking and a 10k-word Thesaurus. I. Requirements WordPerfect/gs can run on a ROM-00 through ROM 3 Apple IIgs with 1MB or more of Expansion Memory. It can run under Systems ranging from ProDOS 16 v1.6 (System 3.2) through System 6.0.1. II. Fix This version of WordPerfect/gs includes a new STARTMAC file which avoids a problem which could hang the program on startup. III. Distributions WordPerfect/gs is distributed as a 3-diskette set for systems without a hard disk and in a 2-file set for systems which have a hard disk. Diskettes-only Installation WordPerfectGS_3DiskSet.zip has the set of three diskettes for systems without a hard disk. After downloading, unzip using WinZIP or a similar utility to obtain the three ShrinkIt whole-disk archives: WORDPERFECT.SDK WORDLISTS.SDK UTILITIES.SDK On your IIgs, use GS ShrinkIt to copy/convert each .sdk file to a 3.5" diskette: WORDPERFECT- boots ProDOS 16 v1.6 (System 3.2) and runs the program WORD.LISTS- non-bootable; has the Dictionary and Thesaurus files UTILITIES- bootable; has assorted util programs Note: Word Perfect can be run from diskettes under later versions of IIgs System-- e.g. System 5.0.4 and System 6.0.1. Hard Disk Installation WordPerfectGS_forHardDisk.zip is a 2-file set for systems which have a hard disk. After downloading, unzip using WinZIP or a similar utility to obtain the ShrinkIt .shk file archive and the .sdk whole-disk archive: WPgsHdDisk.shk UTILITIES.SDK On your IIgs, use GS ShrinkIt to extract the set of files to a hard disk volume's main directory. For example, if a hard disk volume is named "Apple1", extract WPgsHdDisk.shk to Apple1. The files will arrive in a folder named "WP". Use GS ShrinkIt to copy/convert UTILITIES.SDK to a 3.5" diskette. (You may never have any reason to run a UTILITIES program.) Programs on the disk can be moved to a folder on hard disk or run from diskette under System 6.0.1. To run WordPerfect/gs, open the WP/ folder and double click on WP.SYS16.
