+ Documentation for TWGS CDev v2.7 Here is a Control Panel that allows you to change the speed of the TransWarp GS. It automatically sets the speed to TransWarp during the GS/OS boot. You can reach me by: America Online: DAVE L32 GEnie: D.LEFFLER Snail Mail: Dave Leffler 14 I Cape Drive Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 + Distribution: This product is classified "Jesus-A-ware". It is distributed the same as God's Love. That means it's free to anyone who'll accept it. It will be given to anyone, regardless of who or what you are or have been. It's not where you've been, but where you're going! Everyone is free to use the "JesusAware" name. Spreading the Gospel message through Software. This product is free. Give it to everyone, even if they don't have a computer! This work is a labor of love for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! + How to Install: Copy the file "TWGS.CDev" to the "CDEV" folder found in the "SYSTEM" folder of your boot disk. You MUST do this with the Finder or it will not copy correctly. It is an extended file. The NEXT time you open the Control Panel NDA, you'll see the "*Speed*" icon. + How to Use it: Simple! It's a popup menu. Just select the desired speed. The speed will also be displayed in Mhz. This Control Panel is designed to be small and doesn't have a lot of features. It only sets and displays the TWGS speed. It also works with all TWGS's, unlike most other TWGS Control Panels. + Known Quirks: It may take up to a second for the speed in Mhz to be displayed after selecting *Speed*. Don't worry, this is basically to keep the Control Panel updated to the current TRUE speed. The Control Panel will ALWAYS display the CURRENT speed. The TWGS CDA WON'T be updated. Not my fault, AE's. I would suggest leaving the CDA set at the desired speed because it'll "kick in" every once in a while to the speed that the CDA is set on it. I leave mine at TransWarp and adjust the speed from the Control Panel NDA. It's best if you choose between the NDA and CDA to adjust the Control Panel. You'll find that they are mutually exclusive, even with the stuff Apple, Inc gives you. If you add the 32K Cache option, your speed may not be the same as before. For example, when I added the Cache my speed went from 7.000 Mhz to 7.001 Mhz. WOW! a 1/1000 Mhz increase (Ha Ha). + Future Additions: I don't plan on changing this except for bug fixes. It is meant to be a VERY SIMPLE utility. If you want something more elaborate, try out one of the other TWGS Control Panels (TWGS Reporter or the other TWGS CDev). + Don't forget to check out my other projects, all freely distributed: ShowPic, the NDA that displays, saves, and converts all kinds of Super HiRes graphic files for the IIGS. Displays Screen, PackBytes, PaintWorks 320 and 640 mode, Apple Preferred Format, and Print Shop GS graphics. Also 3200 color and the French APP ".3201" graphics, GIF 87a and 89a graphics, and MacPaint files. Saves the displayed graphic in Screen or Apple Preferred format and even double size Apple Preferred format for condensed mode printing, for a mini-SHRConvert type utility. Converts 320 mode graphics into 640 mode color or 640 mode gray scale (semi-intelligent). Also allows veiwing pictures in 320 or 640 mode and changing to those palettes. Displays multiple graphics for a slide show effect with a continuous show feature. Allows scrolling of graphics larger than the screen. (Current Version 6.0) Launch Pad, the CDev that will Configure applications to set their own data file location, Key Translation, and TWGS speed each and every time they are launched, regardless of the launching program. When you return from that program, the previous settings are restored. No more hunting for data files or having to bring up an NDA/CDA/CDev to set up your program environment. (Current Version 1.1) Desk Color, the CDev for changing the color of your desktop from the old periwinkle blue to any picture or pattern. Saves and loads many different pattern files and pictures. Built-in pattern editor with ability to load and save other patterns. The selection is saved so it's used the next time you boot the computer. System 6.0 Compatible. (Current Version 3.0) Menu Master, the NDA that changes all your program menu bars to the colors you have selected. You can also select a font other than the standard Shaston that's used in menus on programs that use the Font Manager. Also set the number of times a menu selection will blink. Your settings are permanently saved so they'll be there the next time you boot. (Current Version 1.1) FKey, the CDev that gives you control over your environment by adding Function Keys to the IIGS. FKeys are similar to NDA's, CDA's, or CDev's. They are mini programs that are run at the stroke of a key sequence, something like a macro. FKey is a new environment for the IIGS. It is expandable because it allows for programmers to add other FKey files. Any utility that should execute with a keystroke inside another program, can be written/rewritten as an FKey to prevent conflicts and reduce memory/disk space requirements. Several FKeys are included with the CDev; a Screen Blanker, Screen Saver, Disk Ejecter, Zoom or Send Windows to the back, Change TransWarp GS speed, or Change the Key Translation, all on the fly with a simple keystroke sequence. The CDev allows you to change the keystroke sequence that is assigned to each function within an FKey, make the file Inactive, or configure it. You may choose any location for the FKey files to be stored, if you don't have enough room on your boot disk. They can even be called from within a CDA brought up from within a Desktop program. (Current Version 0.1b)
