Re: "New moderation policy: US politics"

In: s/meta

Also to answer your question, I at least do care about what goes on in the US, politically and otherwise, and follow a set of trustworthy sources for this purpose.

Social media is not among such sources.

Unfortunately, the state of politics in the US is such that discussions online are either just futile preaching to the choir or heated arguments without common ground. I wish you luck, though, both with having meaningful discourse here and elsewhere, and with the fate of your country.

I, for one, strongly support this policy and have immediately muted the subspace. I moved away from that horrible place for a reason and I'd rather not even think about it anymore if possible.

New moderation policy: US politics โ€” I have created a new subspace: /s/US-politics All posts concerning this topic (e.g., the presidential election/candidates, internal affairs) will be moved to this subspace. I suggest that if you want to discuss or vent about this topic, make your post directly in s/US-politics, or perhaps on your own gemlog. The rationale for this change is that US politics is a highly controversial topic that is likely to result in unproductive or hostile comment threads....
