I loved all my old PalmOS devices. I long for the days of a simple fast set of utilities to carry around. I would love to carry a device which is a combination of a dumb flip phone and a palm pilot.

Main benefit of PalmOS is instant open every app, if you compare to current devices it's full degradation of software enginirieing

@shtirlic Yes! Instant on. People don't even use the term any more because it's fundamentally not how the internet works, and smart phones are all about the internet.

It's also funny that in current Android/iOS devices you have all the tools to prefetch and cache the data before the user actually opens the app and still nobody cares. When you are opening the app => it downloads bunch of startup and update data until you have actual functionality.

"A device that's a combination of a dumb flip phone and a palm pilot". The Tréo. I used to have one of those and it was exactly this. Weather or not you could still use one with your current carrier is debaitable as I think they were all 2G devices, but it would be cool if we had something like them today that suppported 4/5G.
