So, I was actually really happy with the cheap Casio classic watches, under 20 euros and absolutely sufficient. But they broke recently, just like analog Casio watches. It started with condensation on the display. At work, I switch back and forth between warm rooms with rather high humidity and much cooler, dry, heavily air-conditioned storage rooms. I could imagine that this is the cause of the problem. Now looking for a stable replacement. Any recommendations? I don't want to spend a lot at first and would like to test it under working conditions....

Playing with Gemini and Lagrange. Heard of Gemini before but haven't really tried it. TLS client certificates as authentication is fantastic! No passwords to remember. Tradeoff is that identity is tied to the browser. And I'm not sure how to get my cert from Lagrange to GemiNaut. I think the web is going to start moving to passwordless with passkeys, but I like how pervasive passwordless is in Gemini

What is your opinion about the size of Gemini protocol community? I downloaded some archives of Bubble (bbs.geminispace.org) and found that it had fallen off quite a bit. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but the archives went from a megabyte to half that, suggesting a fall-off from peak activity. Is there a graph indicating the Gemini population trend we can all look at and admire? Any stats?

Took a look at Claude3 this morning (unpaid). Out of curiosity I asked it to generate a single file C implementation of a basic Gemini server targetting OpenBSD 7.4 including use of pledge, unveil and dropping to a non-privledged user. After a few refining prompts its actually looking like a decent effort for a few minutes of "work". Only external dependacy is libressl and has a config file in /etc/ rather than static settings it began with. No cgi or anything but looks like for static content it should work. Might flesh it out and test over the next few weeks. Wonder if I can get a good minimal modal console client out of it in a similar fashion? Excited for Devin though (price depending)

So, after spending the first 2 weeks of this adventure in Hanoi, we're finally in Da Nang. The contrast is massive. Da Nang is like the LA of Vietnam – miles of beach, lots of newer buildings and a very chill vibe. Air is way cleaner too. Loving it in this city and planning on staying a good amount of time.
