A little while ago I discovered this CLI and TUI notes application called notes. I have been using Nextcloud Notes for quite a while and was looking for a way to use it in the terminal when I came across it. Syncing with Nextcloud Notes is one of its goals along with being able to sync with a lot of other methods.
I love this program so far. The TUI is simple and functional. Organizing your notes in "sections", aka folders is supported and you can search your notes. You can invoke various aspects as a CLI utility in scripts and there is a lot of useful configurability. It is probably not in any distro's repos at this point but it has no dependencies and so is extremely easy to compile on any system.
There a some useful little features like being able to run custom commands or scripts on start and exit and being able to specify different EDITORs for different file extensions. There is also a user defined pop up menu. I can see a possibility of having a copy of my gemlog folder in my notes and using that pop up menu to upload a post to my gemlog from within the notes app. Could be a neat way to write posts on the go.
