I've been thinking lately about telling friends about Gemini. Some have tried it, but often felt there is not enough content. I felt the same way, but that was probably because I didn't find the capsules that interested me. Have you had any experience with Gemini's recommendation? I would be very interested to know. LG

So far Gemini is for people who live Gemini... Others left but others will stay. Since is not a replacement there is not need to grow faster or to grow bigger. · 2 years ago

Gemini's appeal is obvious to people who its obvious to and obscure for most others... I tend to explain the basic premise behind the protocol itself and judge peoples reactions to the motives. Most of the time this is met with confusion, but once or twice I've watched a light turn on behind their eyes, etc. · 2 years ago

Maybe make a list of the most interesting capsules before recommending to others. · 2 years ago

I'm telling my nerdiest friends about it by sending them links to my capsule or other interesting stuff I stumble upon. I usually send it along a link to mozz.us gemini portal so they *know* it exists but I try not force-feeding alternative stuff; it's useless. · 2 years ago

Once I pointed someone to my page on smol.pub, other than that I’ll just tell people about Gemini in conversation and send them a link to Skyjake’s page about Lagrange 🤷 · 2 years ago

I do not reccomend any alternatives to anyone and I do not do evangelism either... I let people boiling into their soup.

If people don't find stuff by themselves mean that aren't interested but basically lack of creativity.

I got in contact with Gemini accidentally but I am always looking around and it was unavoidable to read something about it, even though I heard about Gopher after Gemini... · 2 years ago

i sent people to this side: 3 random capsules each day. often abandoned or under construction. like in the 90s web. have them check this site once a day for two weeks and they get a feel for it. and station of course. the civilized version of twitter.
