Master Brave Mothman

2022-05-30

The Mrs. has to work today, as she does most holidays. She does get off at 6:00 pm though.

I slept in a little and then have been just hanging around. It's warm enough to have all the doors and windows open. When I got up things were reasonably peaceful with the birds and other critters doing their thing. However, for the last hour or two I've been fortunate to listen to my neighbor's small tractor in his yard and now the leaf blower and weed trimmer. Not to be outdone both the neighbor behind me and the one across the street also decided this is the perfect time to do yard work. I realize they have every right to do so, but it really sucks when you're just chilling trying to relax with some peace and quiet. With the windows open the noise is so loud you can barely hear a TV.

I decided to just go for a bike ride since it's supposed to be sunny all day and in the low 80's and as I mentioned, the Mrs. is working anyway. I spent some time trying to decide where and for how long to ride. I didnt' contact anybody else to ride since it's a holiday and most people are probably doing the family thing. I just need to get back from the ride in time to make a salad for dinner.

So, I ended up riding for about 4-1/2 or 5 hours only stopping for gas and a drink. It was really nice out and the roads I travelled had very little traffic. As I'm writing this, I've just gotten home and still have plenty time to make dinner and relax before starting the work grind again tomorrow. I have to say, riding today was a very, very good experience - better than many! Very good decision.
