I love Axxuy's story, too often one finds themself with the destination in mind that they overlook the beauty of the journey.
This afternoon I took a bike ride while my little one slept. It's something I've been finding myself doing more and more lately, as our new home has a number of bike paths.
About 6 miles in my legs were getting uncomfortable. I had taken my wife's bike (mine is out of order at the moment), and her seat was way too low for me. I stopped at a repair station along the path to loosen the bolt and adjust the seat.
As I grabbed the tool, I felt a sudden pain in my arm. I looked up to see a wasp staring at me, getting ready for a second attack. I hop on the bike and got away as quickly as I could, holding my arm as the pain increased. Frustrated, I almost called it a day and turned back. After some internal debate, I instead decided to wait until the pain was manageable and continued along the trail.
10 minites later I found myself surrounded by beautiful, open fields, not a person around. The weather was perfect, sunny with clouds dotting the sky. As I drank my water and took in the view, I thought of how such a little thing almost kept me from experiencing such a tranquil moment.
In addition to stopping and seeing what's around you, it's important that you don't let emotion keep you from experiencing the beauty of this world.
Thanks for reading, and keep cycling on.
