Subject: [QEC] Ship introduction, and our weird QEC system

Hi All,

I am so excited to have the honor of getting to send our ship’s first
ever transmission ! (I’m Jill by the way). I can’t even properlly
describe my excitement; excuse me while I scream for a moment:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALkjgo
saodfkjdsapfkjpowqdijgpoeqbfnpoeqfunbofeqbjnpoeqnubpoequbioienboiwubepni
sa;lbkjbr3;ojLAkdjg;lkjj;laJDVL:JALJALJBOIJQOKBDS:LBSKJ:LKAJ!!!!!!!!!
There we go.

Okay, so let me explain why this is such a big deal: we were one of the
first ships launched with a QEC (9000’s just a magic number), so early,
in fact, that our QEC software (sendqec (literally a port of sendmail))
is based on one of the draft QEC specs. I’ll see if I can find a copy of
it to send y’all, but basically, it’s from when the IETF’s Quantum
Entanglement Communicator (QEC) WG was still playing around with the
idea of trying to use email for yet another purpose. (needless to say
this was obviously a bad idea, which should be evident given the lack of
similar QEC systems.)

I don’t mind tranmissions being /formatted/ like emails, but I do mind
not being able to communicate for who knows how long (this was because
of some weird date mismatch issues. I think this has something to do
with endianness or something, I don’t know, the specifics are way over
my head. I could be completely wrong. It works now though, which is
good).

Yeah, that’s all for now I guess. Sorry if this is kinda unreadable. I
don’t really ever have a need to write things here so I’m not great at
it. Also our spellcheck is broken. It would be great if someone could
respond if anyone gets this so I know that it does actually work.

Bye!
