Yesterday (2023-06-26) this little (shrub? tree?) caught my eye. We'll call it a shrub for now:
About 8 ft tall (but leaning over sideways)
Leaf description:
- "opposite" leafs (in pairs across from each other on the stem), but in clusters with rapid branching
- "simple" (not patterned leaflets)
- elliptical with an obtuse but pointed apex (i.e., smoothly coming to a sharp point)
- "entire margin", i.e., no teeth or lobes
- pinnately veined
- glaborous (not hairy or sticky) on top and bottom, but veins pronounced on bottom
Four white petals to each flower, seemingly polypetalous (petals not connected to each other).
I'm not sure what it is. I've got an Alaska plant key book on hold at the library, but I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet.
