Lagrange is a GUI client for browsing Geminispace. It offers modern conveniences familiar from web browsers, such as smooth scrolling, inline image viewing, multiple tabs, visual themes, Unicode fonts, bookmarks, history, and page outlines.
after finally giving up on the shell script i was previously using (modified astro) i finally got lagrange, and it's pretty damn good. not too many bugs. good work, the preformatted text looks especially snazzy on the default layout. though the window does lag heavily when i move it (running the AppImage on Ubuntu 22 if anyone's interested)

Auto-generated headers — I really like lagrange, but was wondering if there was a way to toggle the auto-generated site headers? It takes up additional space especially when a site already has a header - then it's two headers. I couldn't find it in the settings, unless I overlooked something.

I'm getting the following error: [100%] Linking C executable lagrange /usr/bin/ld: lib/harfbuzz/libharfbuzz.a(harfbuzz.cc.o): relocation R_X86_64_32S against `.data' can not be used when making a PIE object; recompile with -fPIE collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [CMakeFiles/app.dir/build.make:1021: lagrange] Error 1 make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/Makefile2:120: CMakeFiles/app.dir/all] Error 2 make: *** [Make[file link] all] Error 2 What do I do?

How do I use gophers:// on Lagrange?

Whenever I use Lagrange in Windows Sandbox, after a certain amount of time Windows Sandbox crashes, especially when I switch back to using the Host machine and then go back to the Sandbox.

Lagrange supports gpub?! — I only just found out about gpub today. In almost the same breath, I found out Lagrange supports gpub (opened locally). That's amazing. It was only a week ago that I clued in on Lagrange on Android. From a UX standpoint, it blows the other options out of the water. So what's next, will it make cold brew coffee for me? 🤪 Thanks for this, @skyjake. I deeply appreciate the work you've put into smoothing out the user experience with the gemini protocol! That's all 😁...

Lagrange crashes when fed binary file as index.gmi — Previously there was a question here, because I had no idea what was going on and I though it had something to do with localhost vs remote hosts. I was wrong. My Lagrange on Mac becomes unresponsive when I view this link (be careful before clicking!) [gemini link] What I am serving here is simply a binary executable which I compiled from Go. The file is called index.gmi and placed at the root of the static/blube.club/ directory, served by...

New emojis in Noto Emoji fontpack? — Today the iOS developer Beta rolled out with some new emoji ZWJ sequences for Phoenix, Lime, Brown Mushroom, Broken Chain, etc I'm curious if I can expect these to be viewable in Lagrange eventually? How long does it take for the Noto Emoji font to update? In a related question, how does Lagrange decide when to use a Unicode character for a link icon? I noticed that ◉ and ◎ can be used as link icons, but not ⦿, and I have no idea why. Example: /here ◉ Here...

clagrange doesn't open https urls in browser — I don't have much experience with lagrange (I used to use amfora) so please be patient. When I open a https link in Lagrange it opens in qutebrowser as it should. But when I follow a https link in clagrange nothing happens - the page isn't opened. So how do I configure clagrange to open https links in my favorite browser? I really like TUI interfaces and maybe I'll switch to clagrange because it supports gemini, gopher and finger (and some others I...

Crash on start-up - F-Droid v1.17b26 on Android 9 — A few weeks ago my Lagrange installation (F-Droid v1.17b26 on Android 9) began to exit on start-up before any page was loaded. I did try moving state.lgr aside but that didn't help. What else can I try short of removing my fi.skyjke.lagrange/files ? Thanks!

It is nice to see the radio pages use ogg and it just plays inside Lagrange. Nice touch.

A small but important patch that fixes a significant memory leak. Turns out, there was a reference counting issue related to page contents, so the app was often keeping fetched pages in memory indefinitely. Yikes. Fixed memory leak: fetched pages were not always released from memory (reference miscount). Fixed minor memory leak in list widgets. Gopher: Autodetect Gemtext files based on file extension. Updated...

I wrote an article in a fancy, perhaps a lil' bit old-fashioned Spanish and, it came out completely unreadable in English. Not that I consider that a Lagrange issue, more like me overstimating the power of the algorythm, yet again

Issue with Flatline messages page. I've tried subscribed to the gemfeed but it doesn't seem to work on lagrange. Could it be for the envelope utf8 icon just before the date?

I am using Lagrange on my Android 6. Want to turn on notifications with a sound for some threads. Is it implemented yet? Would be cool.

lagrange assigns some unicode characters to different tabs. i wonder is that a lagrange feature or lagrange gets the unicode emoji from the gemtext or server? i guess it does not because my capsule is also characterized by some character but i never configured it.

A patch release with miscellaneous fixes and improvements. Had a few twists and turns getting this released. Turns out, if you don't touch your dependency build scripts in a few¹ months, they'll definitely be broken when you try to run them again and you've also forgotten how they're supposed to work. The mobile builds were using a version of libiconv that didn't have all the text encodings enabled (CP437 was...

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy Lagrange (desktop, as I just now found out there was a mibile version). I love the simplicity, layout, feel, and I even like the default font. Great work folks!

This patch focuses on a few UI glitches and regressions. Removed automatic horizontal scrolling of wide preformatted blocks. Instead, hold down the Shift key to scroll horizontally with the mouse wheel. Fixed an event processing issue where some events were not handled as expected, for instance when opening a link into split view the opened link was not highlighted. Fixed links not reacting to mouse hover after...

The aesthetic choices behind Lagrange? — Hi! I'm really fascinated with Lagrange, and how it made me fall in love with reading pure text again... A big part of the merit goes to the Gemini protocol itself of course, but in my case I attribute it mainly to the way Lagrange deals with colors. So I tried looking for info on how it's done, but I only found a technical publication about ANSI escapes and such. Do you guys have links to a more color-theory / aesthetics oriented article about this...

Tested the new automated restarting after an update on Windows, and it was quite a smooth experience. 😎 Hopefully works on your end, too. @alexlehm

A smaller patch release that addresses the following: Fixed issues with dropdown menus, particularly when they are opened detached as separate popup windows. Fixed initial scope of a newly created identity when one didn't change the scope setting in the dialog. Fixed activating the pinned identity of a bookmark when opening it from the Bookmarks menu. Fixed clearing the pinned identity of a bookmark. TUI build...

This is a patch release that continues fixing regressions in v1.17 and also corrects some long-standing issues. Tabs opened in background are immediately added to the URL history. Mouse wheel direction switches back to vertical when a wide block has been scrolled all the way. Fixed current text selection extending during scrolling even after mouse button has been released. Fixed drag-to-select with the mouse...
